Terms & Conditions

Last updated: 21 May 2026

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of exclipse.com (the "Site") and the purchase of products from Exclipse ("we", "us", "our"). By placing an order, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Company information

Exclipse is a European company selling certified solar eclipse glasses. Operational contact: hello@exclipse.com.

2. Products

We sell certified solar eclipse glasses designed for direct solar viewing, supplied with documentation referencing ISO 12312-2:2015. Product images are indicative; minor variations in print or packaging may occur.

3. Orders and acceptance

An order placed via the Site is an offer to purchase. The contract of sale is formed when we send the order-confirmation email. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order, for example in case of incorrect pricing, suspected fraud, or unavailability of stock; any payment taken will be refunded in full.

4. Pricing and VAT

Prices on the Site are shown in Euro (€). For consumer (B2C) sales, prices include any applicable VAT at the rate of the destination country. For wholesale (B2B) sales, prices are shown excluding VAT; VAT-registered businesses in the EU can reclaim VAT in full. Shipping costs, if any, are shown before you confirm your order.

5. Payment

Payment is processed by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd. We accept major debit and credit cards and other methods made available at checkout. We do not store full card details on our servers.

6. Shipping and delivery

We ship across the European Union and the United Kingdom from our European warehouse. Retail packs typically dispatch within two business days. Estimated delivery times are indicative and not guaranteed. Risk of loss passes to the buyer on delivery to the carrier, except for consumer purchases, where risk passes on delivery to the consumer in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU.

7. Right of withdrawal (EU/UK consumers)

If you purchase as a consumer, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of receiving the goods, without giving any reason, in accordance with Directive 2011/83/EU and the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. To exercise this right, notify us at hello@exclipse.com and return the goods within 14 days of notice. Goods must be returned unused and in their original packaging. Direct return shipping costs are borne by the buyer. We refund the purchase price (including standard outbound shipping) within 14 days of receiving the returned goods.

8. Returns and refunds

Outside the statutory withdrawal period, returns are accepted at our discretion for defective or incorrectly supplied items. Please contact us within 14 days of delivery if you believe an item is defective.

9. Warranty and conformity

All products carry the statutory two-year EU conformity warranty for consumers (Directive (EU) 2019/771). Wholesale (B2B) sales carry the warranties stated in the quotation issued to the buyer.

10. Safety disclaimer

Exclipse glasses are intended solely for direct eye viewing of the sun. Inspect each pair before every use and discard immediately if scratched, torn, punctured, or altered. Never use eclipse glasses with cameras, phones, binoculars, telescopes, or any other optical device unless that device is specifically rated for solar viewing. Supervise children at all times. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for misuse of the product contrary to these instructions.

11. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded under EU or national law. Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with any order is limited to the amount paid by the buyer for that order.

12. Intellectual property

All content on the Site — including the Exclipse name, logo, product designs, photography, and text — is owned by Exclipse or its licensors and is protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce or use any content without prior written consent.

13. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the EU member state where Exclipse is established. Consumers benefit from the mandatory protections of the law of their country of habitual residence. Disputes may be submitted to the courts with jurisdiction, or to the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in force at the time you place your order applies to that order.
